Plank Craft Kitchen + Bar: A Folsom Foodie Fav!

A visit to Sutter Street in Historic Folsom, CA isn’t complete without a visit to Plank Craft Kitchen + Bar, a neighborhood restaurant serving “California comfort” good eats, and hospitality. Established in 2021, Plank took root in a craftsman-style building that feels like home. The two-story building is situated at the edge of Sutter Street where the neighborhood meets the charming district, making this truly feel like a neighborhood tavern for visitors and locals alike.

Happy Hour at Plank is one for the books! Plan on $5Pint Night every Wednesday from 4-9 pm to celebrate midweek.

Plank is another masterpiece by restaurant extraordinaire, Michael Sanson, who has an astounding 25 years in the restaurant and hospitality industry. Michael’s vision and passion for creating great food and five-star hospitality are evident in all of Plank’s details. He is also the owner of Riley’s on Sutter (see Sutter Street Staples: Riley’s on Sutter). Exceptionalism and outstanding food are the cornerstones of both restaurants. Plank embraces the beauty and change of all seasons featuring a fresh seasonal menu; an ode to Mike’s culinary creativity. The menu has a consistent repertoire of classic meals, such as the Buttermilk Baked Chicken Sandwich, invoking all of the comforts of the South, with a California twist! Whether you’re going for a classic or “for a limited time” seasonal item, each meal is comforting and delicious.

Plank takes dining-in to a new meaning: the restaurant embodies all the comforts of home with cozy seating, an upstairs loft that is always bustling with energy from happy guests, and a beautiful bar, the focal point of the busy kitchen. Imagine all of your favorite family holidays and memories revolving around the kitchen, this is the same feeling Plank evokes while dining in. Opt for a table or booth inside with all the homey vibes, or enjoy the wraparound porch and front patio that are both open invitations to take it easy, California style.

Sutter Street Vibes at Plank

The porch dining is shaded creating an outdoor breezy and relaxing oasis. The front of the restaurant is very welcoming with a patio that encapsulates the laid-back comfort of Plank featuring plenty of umbrellas for shade, lush greenery, charming marketlights, and a gorgeous firepit that can host a larger party. Plank has all of the spring and summertime amenities for your backyard party. Are you looking to have a more intimate patio gathering? Plank has an amazing upstairs patio on the second story that is complete with comfy patio furniture, succulent plants, and umbrellas, with stellar views of Sutter St. offering all the comforts of home.

Whether you’re a neighbor enjoying this local eatery or a visitor spending a day in Folsom, Plank welcomes you and your family. Plank is not only a family-owned restaurant, but also family-friendly as they offer several amenities that will set them apart creating the ultimate family destination. Enjoy a kid-friendly menu (provided for children 9 and under) with specialty items such as Mac and Cheese to Chicken Nuggets with Fries. In addition to the robust food choices, Plank offers the best Mocktails that are both adult and kid-friendly! Folsom Eats recommends the Sunset Peach Mocktail with Liquid Alchemist Grenadine, Pineapple + Lime, and Fever Tree Sparkling Lemon Tonic.

Plank is known for their full-service bar featuring a selection of locally crafted beers and a seasonal cocktail menu that boasts all of the flavors of the changing seasons. The inviting bar includes comfortable barstools, TVs to watch your favorite sport, and great company behind the bar with your experienced bartenders crafting drinks right before you. Whether you go for a Fort Rock Hazy Hop Goblin, New Glory Gumm Worms, or Chardonnay from Knotty Vines (California) you must try the season cocktails! The Lavender Margarita is both light and refreshing adding to the summer experience. (I like to confirm the ingredients).
